Industry declines for the 2nd consecutive month, showing signs of losing momentum

The Brazilian industry lost momentum at the end of 2024, with a 0.6% drop in production in November, according to IBGE data.
Despite uncertainties for 2025, the sector is expected to close 2024 with growth exceeding expectations, driven by its strong performance up to the third quarter.

Our partner and chief economist, Luis Otavio Leal, points out that the outlook for 2025 is likely to resemble that of 2023. Early in the year, the industry will be “testing waters” to determine whether it can pass on rising costs.
