A view on the recent surge in private credit allocations.

In an interview with Bloomberg Línea, our partner and CIO, Renan Rego, shared a more cautious view on the recent surge in private credit allocations.

He pointed out that the strong inflow into the asset class has compressed spreads and made new deals less attractive.

“There’s a limited number of high-quality opportunities. That’s why we’ve been emphasizing the importance of selectivity and maintaining higher liquidity in portfolios.”

The market remains active. According to Anbima, private credit funds raised R$113.3 billion between January and November 2024. In this environment, discipline and active management are key.
